So what exactly is a lead magnet, what is a good lead magnet, and why are they so important in Internet Marketing?
What Is A Lead Magnet
Well, a Lead Magnet is basically nothing more than a free gift that an Internet Marketer offers someone as an ethical bribe to get them to enter their personal information into an opt-in form, and subscribe to your email list. You’ll notice I called it an ethical bribe. That’s what Frank Kern calls it, and he is one of the greatest Internet Marketers in the world, and that is not an exaggeration!
What Is A Good Lead Magnet
That’s a great question, and I’m glad you asked, LOL. A good Lead magnet could be a number of things. It could be a:
- Free Physical Sample of a Product
- Free Sample of a Downloadable Product
- Free Report
- Free ebook
- Free PDF
- Free Trial Membership to a Program
- Free Trial Membership to a Membership Website
- Free Videos
You’ll notice that everything I listed above was FREE! This is very important because you want your visitors to take you up on your offer so that you can add them to your email list, and offering them something valuable, that is also free, is the best way to entice them to do so.
Network Mareketer Extrordinare!
When determining what you should use as a Lead Magnet you should try to put yourself into the mind of your visitors. Ask yourself, “What would be something of interested to them, and what do they really want or need”? The best lead magnet is something that is absolutely irresistible to your visitors! A no brainer! Something that once they find out about that just can’t do without, especially for the price, FREE!
Why Are Lead Magnets So Important
Many new Internet Marketers don’t think about this because the idea is either beyond them at the moment, or it is just too painful to accept. They have a terrific blog, membership website, or product/service that they are offering, and they just can’t imagine why someone wouldn’t subscribe to it, or purchase the item they are marketing right away.
But the truth is, most people will not purchase something online the first time they see it! And even more importantly, most of your visitors will never visit your website or webpage again after the first time unless you entice them to do so. This is not always indicative of the website or the product being marketed as much as it is people in general.
People are busy, have a lot of things on their minds, and generally have a short attention span. So it is no wonder that they never come back to a webpage or website a second time. So regardless of how good your offer is or how great your webpage or website is, you need to stay on their mind and encourage them or lure them back to that website or webpage whenever you can.
Capitalizing On Your Visitors
This is why offering them an irresistible ethical bribe or Lead Magnet is so important. By getting them to sign up for your email list or physical mailing list, you are now able to do several very important things:
- Add Value to Their Lives
- Build a Better Relationship with Them
- Build Their Trust
- Lure Them Back to Your Webpage
- Inevitably Increase Your Sales
By utilizing an Autoresponder service like Aweber or GetResponse to deliver a series of informative and relationship building emails over a period of time, you will be able to accomplish all of these things much easier than ever before. And in the process not only will your sales increase, but you will also be able to market other related products and services to them in the future when the opportunity arises. And that will lead to even greater profits for both you and your Internet Marketing Business.

Although I enjoy writing these posts and helping others learn how to improve or start an Internet Marketing or Network Marketing Business very much, I do monetize the website as much as I can without over doing it. I don’t want to make it so commercial that people don’t want to visit it, but on the same token, almost all websites these days capitalize on some form of marketing.

I do not use any paid advertising for this blog or any of my blog posts. I simply use basic SEO tactics to promote my blog and all of my blog posts. Some get more traffic than others but the key is good content, good comments, and as many quality backlinks as you can get.

I use a plugin called Akismet which filters through the spam for me. I then have to manually approve everything that is not listed as spam before it is posted to the website which works well for me.

Yes, I do occasionally add a picture of myself or a video, but I am extremely busy with school at the moment and have not had the time to implement the videos I would like to add. I really do not know how many times people have copied my content and posted it on their websites. I guess being copied is the greatest form of flattery. Besides I have way to much going on to worry about such things. I just always hope that if someone does copy my articles, they will at least provide a link back to my website but if not, oh well.
I really do not know of any way to stop such things from happening, but if you find your copyrighted content on another website with out your permission, you could always contact the owner and request that they remove it. If the request doesn’t work within a reasonable amount of time you could always threaten legal action.
