How To Find Out How Much Your Website Is Worth!

If you own a website and you’re like most of us in the Internet Marketing world, then you’re bound to eventually wonder “How much is my website is worth”. Let’s face it most Internet Marketers consider their website’s their babies, so knowing this is nice. But if you’re considering buying a website or you want to sell one of your own, this information is extremely important!

So how can an Internet Marketer find out how much their website is worth? Well there are a lot of different free resources available to determine how much any website on the Internet is worth. The problem is that they all come up with a wide range of estimated values. And honestly, I don’t think anyone can prove that any one of them is more accurate than the other.

Free Website Valuation Tools

Here is a list of 10 free Website Valuation sites that are fast and easy to use:

As I said, you are going to get different amounts from each of these websites but at the very least they give you an idea of how much a particular website might be worth. I’ll use one of my websites as an example. After conducting a query at all 10 of these websites, I found the lowest estimate to be at $1,924 while the highest was at $13,607.

Determining Your Websites Value

If you just want to get an idea of how much your website is worth, then these websites will definitely help you out with that. But if you’re seriously considering buying a website or selling one of your own, then you will probably be wondering how to decide which one is the best one to use to determine your selling price, or to determine how much you should offer for a particular website you’re interested in buying.

There are free online calculators that you could always use for this, but I would do this a little differently if it were me. What I would do is add the value that all 10 of these websites give you, then take that total and divide it by 10. This will give you the average amount from all 10 of these websites. This may not be the most accurate, and there is no guarantee that a website is truly worth or only worth this amount, but in my opinion this gives someone a good fair figure to start out with.

By doing this for the website I mentioned a minute ago, the average estimated value of that website, comes out to be $5,082. Another option would be to throw away the lowest amount and the highest amount. Then total all 8 of the estimated values together and divide that number by 8. When I did this for the same website my estimated value was $4,315.

So by using these figures I believe I could safely say that this website is worth somewhere between $5,082 and $4,315. I would consider this area to be a fair and accurate starting point for either buying or selling that website.

To Your Success!

P.S. By the way, if you would like to buy this website from me for $13,607 drop me a line and it’s yours, LOL.

I’ve been gold bricking here at work all day and my boss would certainly kill me if she found out I was reading this stuff all afternoon! OK, admin, some questions. How long did it normally take you to write a article here? And how expensive is it to pay for hosting per month? It would be nice to have a page of my own on the net. However I’ve never actually ran one before, so here I am asking you. It would really give me a head start, if you could either email me or respond here… thank you.

Hi Erika,
I would say that it normally takes me about 30 – 45 minutes to write a blog post, research the keywords I want to target in the blog post, edit the blog post, and then finally post it. Of course some people may spend more time or less than I do to make an interesting blog post, but that is about average for me. If you are not really familiar with the topic you are writing about, researching the topic could be much more time consuming though.

As for paying for hosting each month the rates vary considerably depending on how much bandwidth you need and what Hosting Company you choose. I use HostGator for this blog as well as my other Website’s, and I pay less than $20 per month for all of it. I am sure that I could probably do it for a few dollars less each month, but I find you get what you pay for, and I have been extremely happy with their support. I hope this was helpful!

To Your Success,

Karl

Hey, thank you for blog! I’ve been reading your blog for several days now and i’m genuinely having fun with it. I actually had a couple of questions in relation to your blog though. Do you think it could be achievable for me to make contact with you further to discuss it? Maybe set up a chat on e mail or an instant messanging program? In any other case, appreciate it anyway and I’m going to continue to read and comment.

These site value tools all give you a different price, and really I have come to the realization that no calculator can really tell you what your website is worth, they may get your page rank and alexa rank correctly, but they don’t know what your website generates in ad revenue, affiliate revenue, and then whatever membership fees or other money your website might make… so only you know this, and only you and someone buying your website can really tell you what your website is worth. It depends on everything from your domain name, the niche of your domain name and your website, the amount of traffic you get, the number of pages you have indexed in google, etc.. etc.. etc…

Hi Tying The Knott,

These are all good points and I agree with you on them. The price that a website is worth can be determined in many different ways but it is ultimately the owner and the prospective buyer who must determine a websites worth.

Take Care,

Karl

Here it is an website evaluation algorithm I developed myself:

http://www.webuka.com

I have used Google PR, Alexa Ranking, Alexa back-links and Compete Ranking as input parameters.
Enter your URL and you will have a financial evaluation in a few seconds. (your website market price and your potential monthly advertising income).

I’ve been surfing online more than 4 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough for me.
In my opinion, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you
did, the internet will be a lot more useful than ever before.
