3 Components of an Effective Landing Page or Squeeze Page!
A Squeeze Page, Landing Page, or Capture Page are all the same thing some people just refer to them differently. Regardless of what you hear them called in the Internet Marketing world, if designed properly they can help you build a huge email list and make you a lot of money online.
The Purpose of a Squeeze Page
In Internet Marketing it’s important to understand that a Landing Page or Squeeze Page is for one purpose and one purpose only. It’s to get that visitors information period, nothing else. This is not the place to try to sell them your products and services. There will be time for that later. And if they’re really interested in buying what you have to offer, then they will after you’ve collected their information.
Lead Magnet
A Lead Magnet is the most important component of any Landing Page. A Lead Magnet is the item you are offering the visitor in exchange for their information. The more attractive, useful, and enticing a Lead Magnet is, the more opt-ins you will generally get. If you offer something no one is interested in, very few if any visitors will want it!
The OptIn Form
The OptIn Form is the area on your Squeeze Page where your visitor is required to enter their information to get the Lead Magnet. It’s a good rule of thumb to ask for as little information here as you possibly can.
If you’re primary means of selling your products and services is through the phone, then you’ll definitely need to get their name and phone number, as well as their email address. However if you don’t have to have it, it’s best not to ask for it. Some experts say that just asking for their name when you don’t really need it, can reduce optin rates by as much as 70%.
Call to Action
Once you have given the visitor a good reason to give you their information (i.e. a good ethical bribe), you should always tell them exactly what actions they need to take now. This is what’s called “A Call to Action”. An example would be;
“To take advantage of this free offer, and to get immediate access to (ethical bribe goes here) enter your email address in the space provided to your right, and click on the Instant Access Button NOW!”
Another good tip is to try to create a sense of urgency so that they will do this immediately. The goal is to get them to take action right away. If they say to themselves, “Oh I’ll come back and do this later”, even if they bookmark your page the chances that they’ll actually come back and do so, are very, very slim. Make them want to do it now while they still can.
Why Landing Pages Work
When a Landing Page or Squeeze Page has a great Lead Magnet and someone who is legitimately interested in the type of products and services you’re marketing visits your Landing Page, they will opt-in.
The reason for this is pretty simple. You offered them something of value that they wanted, it was free, they could get immediate access too it, and you made it quick and easy for them to do so. That’s how Internet Marketing is done, and how to build a huge email list of prospective buyers.
