The Biggest Mistake Most Internet Marketers Make!
So you have a website up, it looks pretty good, you’ve got a great product or service, it’s reasonably priced, but you’re not making any money? As new Internet Marketers we’re almost all in this situation in the very beginning!
Internet Marketing
The truth is Internet Marketing is really pretty impersonal. That doesn’t fair very well in the real world of sales! But it doesn’t mean that there aren’t Internet Marketing techniques that can be used to overcome this situation. Most new Internet Marketers learn and become successful over time and aren’t that way their first month.
The thing that Internet Marketers need to do is overcome the impersonal techniques they’re currently using with no affect, and simply approach things differently.
Some people might go to a webpage, see a product and buy it immediately, but in most cases this isn’t what happens. These are what are called impulse buys and generally, they don’t happen on a regular basis. Usually in order to sell something online, you need to build a good relationship with that person first. You want them to get to know you or your business, like you, and trust you!
Professional Internet Marketing
Professional Internet Marketers know this and they approach things much differently because of it. When someone visits your website, chances are they’ll never visit your website again. It’s not because they didn’t like it, they just never get back to it. So in this situation, you only have one shot to make a sale. If you don’t do it then, your visitor is gone forever.
The way to overcome this is to find a way to be able to continue to communicate with that person after they have visited and left your website. The way this is accomplished is by gathering their name and email address.
Getting Their Email Address
As nice as it would be, people aren’t just going to give you this information. The only way you’re going to get it from them, is if you put the visitor in a situation where they want something you’re offering bad enough to give you their information. This is done because they’re buying something from you, or because you’re giving them something for it. Call it a bribe if you want but it should be an irresistible offer! This could be a myriad of things such as:
- A free e-book
- Access to a live teleseminar
- A free download of something
- Free training
- More information
You get the picture and the possibilities are endless.
Squeeze Page
You need to figure out a way to get people who visit your website to give you their information and this is done through what is called a squeeze page, others may call it a landing page, capture page, or an optin page. Basically you embed a form from an AutoResponder into this webpage so they can enter their information.
All of this is done so that you can capture their information. Once you’ve done that, you now have the opportunity to start communicating with them, build trust, get them to like you, reinforce the benefits of your product or service, and get them to come back to your website again!
That’s how the Internet Marketing Pro’s do it!
