How A Personalized Greeting Card Can Impact Your Business!

Rather than analyzing this theory, I thought it would be best to use a story to illustrate this example using a real life scenario!

Sending Your Client A Business Greeting Card

A Business Thank You Card

You’ve just finished making a sale with a new client named Sally. Sally is a 35 year old housewife with 2 children, a husband, 2 dogs, a cat, and a very busy life.

You decide that you want to let Sally know how much you appreciate her as a person and how much her business means to you, so you hand write a greeting card and the envelope it will be mailed in!

In the greeting card you write the following:

Hi Sally,

It’s John from (your company name goes here). I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for your time and to tell you what a pleasure it is to have met you!

You’re a wonderful person and you have a beautiful family! Your children are absolutely precious.

I know you had plenty of options available to you when making your decision to do business with me, and I just wanted you to know that I appreciate your trust and confidence.

I look forward to getting to know you and your family better over the coming months, and I want you to know that I consider you a friend not just a client.

Your Client Receives Your Greeting Card

Sally goes to the mail box, and finds a stack of envelopes containing bills, and junk mail. In with all of this she sees an envelope that looks like it has a card in it. She notices that the envelope is hand written and is from you.

Sally opens the card and sees that you actually wrote this card specifically to her! She is surprised and happy at the same time. After reading the card she thinks to herself, “What a nice person, and what a nice gesture, I can’t believe he/she took the time to write this and send it to me”!

Sending Your Client A Birthday Card

The next month comes, and you realize that Sally is about to celebrate her 36th birthday. You decide to send her a birthday card. In it you write:

Dear Sally,

Hi Sally its John Smith. I know you have a birthday coming up and my wife Shari and I wanted to make sure we didn’t miss it!

It seems another year has quickly passed us both by with many trials, tribulations, and wonderful moments in it.

We hope that you have one of your best Birth Days ever, and an even better year this year, than last!

Your Client Receives Their Birth Day Card

A month or two has gone by without Sally hearing from you. She goes to the mailbox to check her mail and mixed in with all the other bills and junk mail she is surprised to see what looks like another card from you. She wonders what the card is for.

Sally opens the envelope and is immediately met with a beautiful happy birthday card. She opens the card and reads it. She is both shocked and amazed that you remembered her birthday, and even more surprised that you took the time to write her and send her a birthday card.

Sally is blessed to have many family and friends. But through this you were one of only three people who took the time to send her a birthday card. She received one from her parents, her best friend, and you!
