Some People Just Aren’t Right For Network Marketing!
My new Son in Law is a member of a Network Marketing Company (not even the same one as mine) and doing quite well I might add. In fact that’s all he does for income, and he’s able to support a family of six. Needless to say, I’m very proud of him !
Meeting New People
I’ve always believed that it’s best to be casual, conservative, and slightly inquisitive when meeting someone for the first time. I like to get to know a little about them and what makes them tick.
Upon meeting some of my new family members, I’ll let you figure out the relationship. One lady beckoned my wife over to sit with her and her daughter (the daughter is also a member of the same Network Marketing Company) so that they could all get to know each other. How sweet I thought!
Personal Opinions
Within the first 15 minutes of conversation, the woman asked my wife Shari, do you watch Glenn Beck. “Not really” she replied. With a confused and disapproving look on her face, the lady said, “Well what do you watch then”? “Mainly CNN and the local news I guess” Shari replied. “Oh, so you must be a democrat” she said in a condescending manner! “Know not really, I’d say I’m more of a Republican, but I don’t limit myself based on a political affiliation” Shari replied.
About 15 minutes later, this same woman was telling my wife (in front of her daughter) how much she despised the fact that her son and daughter were involved in something such as Network Marketing and all the things she disliked about their company. She was completely unaware of the fact that my wife and I are proud members of a Network Marketing company ourselves.
Negative Stinking Thinking
I was absolutely shocked and appalled by what this lady was saying (especially to a complete stranger) about an industry that both of her children we’re involved in, and doing very well in. My wife went on to politely explain her thoughts and opinions on the negative statements she was making about network marketing, (I was so proud of her), and the conversation eventually changed.
It was then that I thought to myself, some people are just not worth the effort to try to convert. Don’t get me wrong, we need people like her, because we need employees in this country. But life is too short to waste your energy on people that are this negative about our industry.
The fact is that this type of person would be nothing more than a cancer to anyone’s Network Marketing Business anyway. So I’m happy that she is an employee, and thinks she has all the answers. I just can’t understand the not supporting and encouraging your children’s goals and aspirations part!
But what do I know; I’m just another Self-Employed Network Marketer ?
