What Is A Lead Magnet And What Is A Good Lead Magnet?

So what exactly is a lead magnet, what is a good lead magnet, and why are they so important in Internet Marketing?

What Is A Lead Magnet

Well, a Lead Magnet is basically nothing more than a free gift that an Internet Marketer offers someone as an ethical bribe to get them to enter their personal information into an opt-in form, and subscribe to your email list. You’ll notice I called it an ethical bribe. That’s what Frank Kern calls it, and he is one of the greatest Internet Marketers in the world, and that is not an exaggeration!

What Is A Good Lead Magnet

That’s a great question, and I’m glad you asked, LOL. A good Lead magnet could be a number of things. It could be a:

  • Free Physical Sample of a Product
  • Free Sample of a Downloadable Product
  • Free Report
  • Free ebook
  • Free PDF
  • Free Trial Membership to a Program
  • Free Trial Membership to a Membership Website
  • Free Videos

You’ll notice that everything I listed above was FREE! This is very important because you want your visitors to take you up on your offer so that you can add them to your email list, and offering them something valuable, that is also free, is the best way to entice them to do so.

When determining what you should use as a Lead Magnet you should try to put yourself into the mind of your visitors. Ask yourself, “What would be something of interested to them, and what do they really want or need”? The best lead magnet is something that is absolutely irresistible to your visitors! A no brainer! Something that once they find out about that just can’t do without, especially for the price, FREE!

Why Are Lead Magnets So Important

Many new Internet Marketers don’t think about this because the idea is either beyond them at the moment, or it is just too painful to accept. They have a terrific blog, membership website, or product/service that they are offering, and they just can’t imagine why someone wouldn’t subscribe to it, or purchase the item they are marketing right away.

But the truth is, most people will not purchase something online the first time they see it! And even more importantly, most of your visitors will never visit your website or webpage again after the first time unless you entice them to do so. This is not always indicative of the website or the product being marketed as much as it is people in general.

People are busy, have a lot of things on their minds, and generally have a short attention span. So it is no wonder that they never come back to a webpage or website a second time. So regardless of how good your offer is or how great your webpage or website is, you need to stay on their mind and encourage them or lure them back to that website or webpage whenever you can.

Capitalizing On Your Visitors

This is why offering them an irresistible ethical bribe or Lead Magnet is so important. By getting them to sign up for your email list or physical mailing list, you are now able to do several very important things:

  • Add Value to Their Lives
  • Build a Better Relationship with Them
  • Build Their Trust
  • Lure Them Back to Your Webpage
  • Inevitably Increase Your Sales

By utilizing an Autoresponder service like Aweber or GetResponse to deliver a series of informative and relationship building emails over a period of time, you will be able to accomplish all of these things much easier than ever before. And in the process not only will your sales increase, but you will also be able to market other related products and services to them in the future when the opportunity arises. And that will lead to even greater profits for both you and your Internet Marketing Business.

Disclaimer: Marketing is my primary source of income. If you purchase something as a result of clicking on my links, I’ll get paid money. But if it makes you feel any better, I promise that it will be used to support my family. So thanks in advance, because we really appreciate it. Take Care!

How To Build a Large Email List Like A List Building Expert!

In Internet Marketing, list building and your ability to build a large list of targeted prospects can be the difference between online success and complete failure. Without a targeted list of prospects to market your products or services too over and over again, your success will be very limited!

The most important elements needed to build a large email list, targeted email list, and responsive email list are:

  • A good Opt-in Page or Squeeze Page
  • A Great Lead Magnet
  • Lots of Exposure for Your Opt-in Page or Squeeze Page

Let’s look at each one of these things individually.

Opt-in Page or Squeeze Page

The key to an effective opt-in page that produces a high percentage of opt-ins or a high conversion rate is to make your Squeeze Page simple. You don’t need to have a lot of fancy graphics and tons of content. In fact many of the most successful squeeze pages are so basic you would probably laugh! A good Squeeze Page consists of 3 things:

  • An Attention Grabbing Headline
  • A Compelling Video, Compelling Content, or Both
  • An Attention Getting Opt-in Form

And all of these things should be above the fold, which means they should be visible on a visitors browser without the need to scroll over or down to see them. You want these things to immediately be the first things a visitor sees when visiting the webpage.

Lead Magnet

A lead magnet is the most important part of a high converting squeeze page. Think of it as an ethical bribe being offered so that a visitor is more than willing to give you their contact information.

Note: The less information you require a visitor to give you so that they can get your lead magnet, the higher your conversion rate will be. If you really only need their email address, then don’t ask for anything else!

The key to a great lead magnet is offering your visitors something for free, with a very high perceived value. The more valuable a visitor sees your free offer to be, the more apt they are to give you their contact information so that they can get it.

For instance, if you were an Insurance Agent trying to get contact information for people looking for Life Insurance, you might put together a small eBook or PDF entitled, “The 5 Most Important Things Your Life Insurance Agent Won’t Tell You!”

Exposure

Just having a good opt-in page and a great lead magnet isn’t enough. You need a lot of visitors. Without this key element you won’t get very many opt-ins. There are a lot of ways to get exposure for your opt-in page that will result in large numbers of visitors, some are free and some aren’t. Here is a short list in no particular order:

  • Traditional Advertising
  • Pay Per Click Advertising (PPC)
  • Pay Per View Advertising (PPV)
  • Cost Per Action Advertising (CPA)
  • Online Classified Ads (Free or Paid)
  • Search Engine Optimization
  • Local Search Engine Optimization
  • Banner Ad Marketing
  • Social Networks
  • Blog Posts
  • Press Releases (Free or Paid)
  • Online Article Marketing (Free or Paid)
  • Giveaway Websites and Promotions
  • Forums

As you can see, the ways to drive targeted traffic to your squeeze page are vast. The more of these methods you use, the more traffic you will generally get. Start with the free methods first to make sure that you’re getting a nice conversion rate before spending too much money on any of these things. And because of this, it’s important to track your results. You need to know:

  • Where Your Traffic Is Coming From
  • How Well Your Squeeze Page is Converting

If you’re not getting the results you want then start tweaking things a bit. If your ads aren’t producing well try changing your ads a bit, or try other advertising mediums. If your conversion rate is low, tweak your squeeze page a bit. Sometimes just changing your headline can make a huge difference. If you’re getting good traffic but your conversion rate is low and all else fails, then you might need to consider trying a different lead magnet.

How To Find Out How Much Your Website Is Worth!

How To Find Out How Much Your Website Is Worth!

If you own a website and you’re like most of us in the Internet Marketing world, then you’re bound to eventually wonder “How much is my website is worth”. Let’s face it most Internet Marketers consider their website’s their babies, so knowing this is nice. But if you’re considering buying a website or you want to sell one of your own, this information is extremely important!

So how can an Internet Marketer find out how much their website is worth? Well there are a lot of different free resources available to determine how much any website on the Internet is worth. The problem is that they all come up with a wide range of estimated values. And honestly, I don’t think anyone can prove that any one of them is more accurate than the other.

Free Website Valuation Tools

Here is a list of 10 free Website Valuation sites that are fast and easy to use:

As I said, you are going to get different amounts from each of these websites but at the very least they give you an idea of how much a particular website might be worth. I’ll use one of my websites as an example. After conducting a query at all 10 of these websites, I found the lowest estimate to be at $1,924 while the highest was at $13,607.

Determining Your Websites Value

If you just want to get an idea of how much your website is worth, then these websites will definitely help you out with that. But if you’re seriously considering buying a website or selling one of your own, then you will probably be wondering how to decide which one is the best one to use to determine your selling price, or to determine how much you should offer for a particular website you’re interested in buying.

There are free online calculators that you could always use for this, but I would do this a little differently if it were me. What I would do is add the value that all 10 of these websites give you, then take that total and divide it by 10. This will give you the average amount from all 10 of these websites. This may not be the most accurate, and there is no guarantee that a website is truly worth or only worth this amount, but in my opinion this gives someone a good fair figure to start out with.

By doing this for the website I mentioned a minute ago, the average estimated value of that website, comes out to be $5,082. Another option would be to throw away the lowest amount and the highest amount. Then total all 8 of the estimated values together and divide that number by 8. When I did this for the same website my estimated value was $4,315.

So by using these figures I believe I could safely say that this website is worth somewhere between $5,082 and $4,315. I would consider this area to be a fair and accurate starting point for either buying or selling that website.

To Your Success!

P.S. By the way, if you would like to buy this website from me for $13,607 drop me a line and it’s yours, LOL.

Online Video Marketing And Getting Started

Online Video Marketing And Getting Started

If you’re new to Internet Marketing or you are thinking about giving Online Video Marketing a try, then I have some insights as an Online Video Marketing Newbie who is learning my way around. I have been working with online videos for about two months now, and I wanted to share what I have learned so far.

Online Video Marketing

When thinking about your Internet Marketing Business, just the thought of adding Online Video Marketing to your repertoire can cause several things to come rushing to someone’s mind very quickly. Most people think, of my gosh, “I couldn’t possibly stand in front of a camera and make a professional video. And you may be right! Making a video of yourself when you’re just getting started can be very difficult and extremely intimidating.

I learned that the hard way! Now I’m not saying you might not need to get better at this eventually, just like I will. But you don’t have to start out doing those kinds of videos if you don’t want to. Instead you could start out with screen capture videos.

Screen Recording Software

One of the great things about Screen Recording Software like Camtasia Studio is that you never have to show your face on the camera if you don’t want to. You simply make a PowerPoint slide presentation if you’re running a windows system, and then you go through your PowerPoint presentation while you speak into a microphone which records your voice. You don’t have to be an expert to do this, you just need to have the right software and an inexpensive external microphone of some sort that blocks out background noise.

I tried many free screen capture software programs trying to save money, and found them to be more of a pain in the butt then the savings was worth. So I purchased the best Video Screen Capture Software I could find which was Camtasia Studio.

Video Screen Capture Software

Camtasia Studio has a nice video tutorial system in place, so learning to use the software is not that difficult, and can be done in a couple of days. The hard part with making this type of video isn’t recording it so much as it is editing it. Not only is this a bit confusing at first, it can also become extremely time consuming if you have to make a lot of edits to a large video file.

The good thing is that it becomes easier and easier the more you do it. As to how to make editing the video file faster, I’m still working on ways to do that. But here’s one of the best tips I can give you when first starting out making these types of videos. “Don’t expect any video to be perfect”. They never are! So just do the best you can on it, watch it, and if it isn’t a complete embarrassment, then post it somewhere online so people can start watching it.

I’ll update you even more on my Online Video Marketing exploits in the days and weeks to come. Until then, don’t be intimidated, just go set up a free trial account of Camtasia Studio at:

Camtasia Studio

By the way, this isn’t an affiliate link, and I am not associated with or affiliated with TechSmith or Camtasia Studio in any way. It’s just a recommendation based on my personal experience. So go get Camtasia Studio and start making a video.

Why All One Way Backlinks Are Not Equal In SEO Value

Why All One Way Backlinks Are Not Equal In SEO Value

In Internet Marketing SEO is said by many, to be a do or die situation. Although I am by no  means a Search Engine Optimization expert, I do feel that SEO is something that you should try to focus on and implement into your Internet Marketing business if you expect to be successful. Just my opinion!

SEO or Search Engine Optimization

One of the easiest and fastest ways you can inexpensively improve your Search Engine Optimization for a webpage or website is by creating one way backlinks that point to that webpage or website, with keyword targeted text in the hyperlink.

The reason for this is because the Search Engines think very highly of these one way backlinks. They feel that the more one way backlinks there are pointing to a webpage containing relevant keywords, the more chance there is that this webpage contains valuable content about these keywords.

Think of it as a vote for that webpage, coming from the webpage that the link is available on. The more votes a webpage gets the more relevant it becomes in the eyes of the search engines.

Google’s Page Rank

This is simple enough and I recommend getting as many one way backlinks as you can if you want to promote a webpage. However, it’s important to understand that not all back links are created equal. You see the Google Search Engines are said to get about 60-70% of all the daily searches being performed online every day, and Google has a thing they call Page Rank or PR.

Google has an automatic rank that they assign to every webpage that the Google Search Engines have indexed. And it’s based on a top secret formula. No, I’m not kidding it is top secret! It’s based on a scale of 0-10 with zero being the lowest and ten being the highest.

All webpage’s start with a PR of 0 and earn their way up from there. A websites PR is based on many other things as well, but the majority of webpage’s on the Internet are currently ranked at a 0 or 1. If you have a webpage with a PR of 4-6 you’re doing far better than most. And anything above a 6 is dripping with gold!

One Way Backlinks

So Google looks at these One Way Backlinks that we have pointing to our webpage’s and says, the PR of the webpage the link is on, should also affect how big of a vote that webpage is getting. So a one way backlink on a webpage with a PR of 2 holds more weight than a link from a webpage that has a PR of 0.

Another thing some people feel the Search Engines take into consideration is the relevance of the webpage the link is on, as it pertains to the page the one way backlink is pointing to. Now some people do not believe this makes a difference, while others hold that it does. I’ll let you decide for yourself, but this makes sense to me.

Best One Way Backlinks

If this is true, let’s say your webpage is about dog food. If you had a link on another website that said, “Best Dog Food for Pit Bull Puppies”, that would seem like a relevant link. Now if this link was on two webpage’s and they both had a PR of 2. If one of these websites was about Pit Bull Puppies, and one of these links was on a webpage about, “Potato Shooting”, yes there is such a thing, the link on the page about Pit Bull Puppies would be a bigger more valuable vote because it is more relevant.

So your goal for creating one way backlinks to your webpage’s should be to create as many keyword relevant links, to webpage’s that are relevant to your webpage’s subject as you can. And the hire the PR of the webpage the link is on, the better. This may not shoot your webpage to the top of the search engine rankings overnight, but over time, doing this should help your Internet Marketing Business out a lot!
